Astronomy-Page is a Web 2.0 weaved astronomy website, with powerful webapps, such as a fully blown online planetarium, an astronomy startpage, and an astronomy digg. Astronomy-Page is administrated by a 15 year old webmaster and amateur astronomer (me) , who's main objective is to pimp out astronomy on the internet, and make it reach its full potential.

Hubble shows 2 Interacting Galaxies: Arp 87

Hubble has captured one of the best and cool shots ever: two interacting galaxies, just like the mice galaxies or the antennae. The pic shows the galaxies in high detail as well as the exchange of matter taking place between both galaxies. A nice foreshadowing of what might happen to our Milky Way when it collides with the Andromeda Galaxy (M 31) in about 2 million years' time. Check it out!

The Slackerpedia

"The goal of Slackerpedia Galactica is to create an astronomy-themed version of Wikipedia, but in Slacker Astronomy style! That is, create factual pages on astronomical topics, but loaded with humor, jokes, cheesieness and the absurd." This wiki is really nice, it's really written in the same style as Slackerpedia.org: They Don't Care, and like to go crazy about astronomy subjects!

Damn, we're in the middle of the sun's low activity period, which happens about every 11 years. We'll have to wait a few more before lots of sunspots, cool flares, and amazing protuberences reappear

The Jovian Minisat Explorer

ESA is planning on launching a mission similar to Saturn's Cassini but for Jupiter. One of the mission's main goals would be to try to discover if there is - or not, liquid water under the ice crust on Jupiter's moon Europa. We could then send "hydrobots" to see if there is any tiny hint of life in Europa's hypothetical underground oceans.

Inside Mount Paranal's Residencia

Next to the VLT telescopes in the Atacama Desert is the Residencia, a unique building with a beautiful decoration. That's where some of the Scenes in the next James Bond, Quantum of Solace, will be shot. The Mount Paranal website invites you to a sneek peak inside the Residencia
