After posting the Location of the VLT on Mount Cerro Paranal in Chile, here are the two Keck Domes and the Canada France Hawaii Telescope up on Mount Mauna Kea in Hawaii. These three were much more easy to find, given the fact that its up on a god damn volcano on a tiny island.

I always thought that they were a bit mad to put millions of dollars of scientific equipment up on an active volcano! Especially when it took around 10 years to build. They put it right on top of it - at the exact spot where its the most likely to get blown. It would be a bit sad to see the Hawaii observatory teared to bits in a volcanic eruption…
