If you’ve just started an astronomy website or blog using wordpress, you’ll notice that there’s a nice tool implemented directly into the interface called Sidebar Widgets
Here are a few resources to turn your sidebar into a really cool and nasty full time astronomy observatory…

The must-have is, without doubt, the astronomy picture of the day (APOD) widget, which I suggest you go and grab now! Grab the Astronomy Picture of the Day Widget

Next, you might want the latest SOHO image of sunspots. If you do, go to you sidebar widgets interface and create a new text widget. For the title, put SOHO (or any other title you like). As for the body of your widget, put the following code:

You might also want to add a webcam from a famous observatory. To do so, just repeat the steps above but add this code for the widget body:
